KUWAIT- IIFME 2017 REPORT

The 9th International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME), one of the most significant and largest specialized exhibitions of inventions, was organized by Kuwait Science Club in collaboration with the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva under the patronage of His Highness the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah during January 16 – 19, 2017.

 

The event was officially opened with the participation of around 200 inventors from 36 countries across the globe. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Sabah, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, delivered the inaugural speech stating “IIFME has brought together inventors and innovators from the four corners of the globe to exchange ideas and expertise. Every year, the IIFME showcases a plethora of impressive Kuwaiti, the Persian Gulf and Arab inventions. Kuwait’s embracing of inventors and their inventions embodies its great interest in the promotion of creative thinkingâ€‌.

 

Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Sheikh Namer Al-Sabah voiced appreciation to His Highness the Amir’s sponsorship of the event which reflects his support of the youth and dissemination of the culture of invention and innovation.

 

IFIA Best Invention Medal and Cup were awarded to support the event which is in line with IFIAâ€کs mandate and to encourage innovation and creativity.
